Nearly the entire inventory at Steier’s Amish Country Store on 206 Depot Street in Clarks Summit is handmade by Amish craftsmen. This unique country store and furniture gallery highlights handmade Amish furniture in abundance, including hutches, tables, benches, chairs, and just about everything. Purchase quality heirloom furniture, including custom made furniture, handmade with care the old fashioned way using wooden dowels and no nails. Order new furniture custom made for you using either new wood, or old wood from barns that may be over 100 years old! Other handmade items to choose from include ironware, candles, wreathes, quilts, runners, jellies, jams, lamps, folk art, salt-glazed pottery and redware. Purchase an authentic Amish star made from actual old barn roofs, not cheap imitation stars! Sadly, Steier’s is hosting a Going out of Business Sale – everything must go and the prices are marked down accordingly. The good news is that visitors can still purchase custom furniture. Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6:00 and Thursday noon until 8:00; closed Sunday & Monday. To find yourself at Steier’s Amish Country Store from the Pocono Mountains, enjoy a scenic drive up Route 380 to Interstate 81 North to the Clarks Summit exit, follow signs for Routes 6 & 11 through Clarks Summit, make a left at the second light, then make an immediate left onto Depot Street and see the store on the right. Call (570) 586-5103 with any questions.
